For people who have pick-up trucks with canvas flatbed covers that's flush with the flatbed?

Question
Why in the world would you deliberately limit your flatbed hauling capacity by having that black canvas thingy over the flatbed? Don't me wrong, I don't hate trucks. I have a 1996 dark green GMC Sonoma with an extended cab and I have the flatbed cap on the back that it came with, but not a black canvas cover that seriously limits the flatbed hauling capacity that I keep seeing people with trucks have. I see them a lot everywhere I go, so I'm just wondering why.
Answer
I have a "Truxedo" tonneau cover on my pickup, and my hauling capacity is not limited in the least. Where did you ever get that idea? Can you tell me what cargo you think you can haul that I can't? The soft "canvas-type" cover rolls back completely out of the way when it isn't needed. I can haul any cargo that I want.....from groceries to sheetrock, to stone and bricks to luggage in the rain and it all stays dry. I would never get a hardtop cover for just the reason you cite....restricted carrying capacity......but the soft, roll-back covers are great. I've had mine for 2 years now and love it. An added benefit you might want to consider is the increased highway mileage you get when you have a bed cover...... Here is Truxedo's site: http://www.truxedo.com *** PS...Mike I got mine when I had to haul a load of boxes and personal possessions from Fla. to NJ.....and the weather was rainy. I use it when I pick someome up at the airport in the rain now too......."looks" never entered into it.....but you're right about the aerodynamic help and the increased gas mileage.
